Day 4: Side hike to prayer flags

From the gompa you can take a side trip hiking above Tengboche following a line of prayer flags strung up on poles. The further you climb the more incredible the views including a chorten very high up on the ridge.

This profile somehow doesn't look very correct.

Getting too excited about the monastery, monks, prayers and our blessing in Tengboche, we have completely forgotten about a short side hike we were supposed to do from here.

The views are really incredible above Tengboche including Ama Dablam & Mt. Everest hiding behind the Lhotse Wall & the Thamserku-Kangtaiga glacier. You can also view the EBC trail across the river valley leading to Pangboche.*

Following the path up first you reach chorten at Tengboche Ri (4,198 m), then continue up to the prayer stones and another chorten at the High Point (4,368 m).
