Winter summit of Jebel Toubkal

It was just a longer weekend. Friday morning flight to Marrakesh (arrival at 11:25), return Monday evening (departure at 17:15).

Day 1 - Friday - Imlil

After arriving, we start with visiting the Medina of Marrakesh.

the meeting place will be Hotel Ali .it's not far from Jamaa Lafna place .the driver will came ask for you in the Hotel reception and he will bring a peper with your complet name and the name of the Hotel Soleil .

grand taxi to Imlil (1,740 m) - around 2.5 hours - leave at 16h

Day 2 - Saturday

Hike from Imlil to Toubkal Refuge (3,200 m) takes around 7 hours.

Sidi Chamharouch

Lunch break in Sidi Chamharouch.

Approach in La Sportivas might not be the easiest option, but they will come really useful tomorrow.

Sidi Chamharouch (Sultan of Jinns / King of Devils) is a pre islamic marabout shrine, as we have much later found out, and name of Berber settlement which has grown up around it. On a stone plateaux behind a giant white-painted boulder with a flag on top animals are still sacrificed daily for healing mental disease, exorcising spirits, solving problems or simply good luck and good health.
